Si Una Vez music video

This is a video I edited. When the concert CD 'Selena, LIVE: The Last Concert' was released, it became a huge hit in the U.S. and around the world as well. But there is only one thing, there was no music videos added to its release. I have always thought that 'Si Una Vez' should have been a music video for this CD. Everything in Selena's performance during this song is perfect: pitch, dance, fans, passion, etc. This is a little bit how I envisioned this music video it it had happened:

Historic moment caught on camera

This video appears to be of Selena exiting the Astrodome of Houston right after Selena's historic concert on February 26, 1995! Selena looks right into the camera and waves. Remember, there were more than 64,000 people that night and to get the entertainer to look at you while she is exiting is extremely rare.

Here is rare footage of Selena in the 80's. The title of the video says she is 15 but I don't think it is possible because the song she is singing is "Girlfriend" by Pebbles, which was released in 1987(Selena would have been at least 16 when this footage was recorded).

It's that sad time of year again, we are on the brink of another year without Selena. To commemerate another year since her passing, Texas Monthly has put Selena on their magazine cover and has also issued unedited photos of Selena, Selena trademark items and a picture of the room where Selena was gunned down. The cover is quite beautiful, it mocks the idea of how many people have literally passed Selena as a saint. To read the story behind this great cover, CLICK HERE. There is a new Selena book, and it seems like a good one. The author, Cristina Castrellon, claims to have had been a close friend of Selenas'. This book talks about six messages Selena has left for her closed ones after her death. One of these messages say she has forgiven her killer, Yolanda Saldivar. La Leyenda

"Selena: La Leyenda" has been out since March 9th, so if you haven't gotten your copy, you should hurry. There are three packages to choose from. One is a single disc package with Selena's song hits. Another one is a two-disc edition, and the final one has four cds and each cd in this package is seperated by genre of music. This is the new Selena DVD cover. It is from the concert taken place in San Antonio, Texas in 1991. Pictures of this concert can be seen HERE. According to internet rumors, it will be released in November or December. But if you call down to Q-Productions now, you could get a copy and receive in in a few weeks. Go out and get one! It sounds like a very interesting dvd!

Two new Selena clips

The first video is a video that I really enjoy and love watching, it has many clips of the interview she gave hours before her historic,purple jumper(from tejanoreina.com), performance at the Astrodome of Houston. Towards the end, it also has two rare clips of Selena's acceptance speech for the Premio Lo Nuestro awards in 1994, and it has a clip of Selena talking to the press right after she won her grammy in 1994, as well.

The second video is just a small clip of the Selena special on PBS. This special is a part of the series of latin music in the USA.

I recently took a trip down to California and didn't have the time to post new posts on this blog.
But as of today, I am going to try to update this blog as much as possible. As you can see, I have redecorated this whole blog, you should comment me telling me what you think of it.

I also replaced the old header with a new a new one. It is a croped out picture from an oil pastel painting of Selena at the 36th annual grammy awards. This is Selena in a rare interview in 1994 I believe. Selena is talking about her start and how she isn't really interested in glamour of 'Fame'. It is bad quality and the video doesn't match with the audio but that just shows how rare it is! Thank You SELEVIC for this video and many other videos on Selena.

This is a Selena special that looks like it was aired in the late '90s on the show, OnDaMax where Selena appeared many times before her death. I like it because in the end of the first video, Alvaro Torres admits to liking Selena and he would have asked her out if he didn't have a girlfriend at the time.

Selena Dolls

New Selena dolls are still on sale at the Q-production website. Only two of the 3 have been released. One is an outfit she wore at the 1994 TMAs singing "Bidi Bidi Bom Bom" and Donde quiera Que estes". The other is of the outfit she wore to the red carpet of Furia Musical Awards. The dolls are 12" fashion dolls with lifelike hair and is highly detailed face of Selena, they are only $19.99 wich is a great price knowing the the 1997 dolls were $30 or higher.

This blog is for the lost star, Selena Quintanilla whom is no longer with us since March 31, 1995. At the age of 23, Selena had accomplished numerous things that some artists take years to overcome. Today, she is still remembered and will always remain with us in our hearts.

I hope you like this tribute to the queen of tejano and enjoy the pictures, videos and writings for the star.
